Paiva Joao Vasco

I am a Portuguese audio visual artist currently living in Hong Kong. My work is usually presented in the form of audio visual performances and installations. Coming from a fine arts background, I recently graduated from a Master of Fine arts in Creative Media, in the school of Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong. During the last 3 years I have been developing several projects in China and Southeast Asia. These projects are mostly audio and video documentation which I process digitally using my own programming. These works have been showed in places such as: Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Porto ,Vienna, Hanghzou and Coimbra. My main interest are cultural mapping ,micro narratives , structure and composition . I am also deeply interested in urbanism, experimental ethnography and recently because of my status as an outsider/emmigrant / tourist the notion of exoticism , recognition and familiarity.
