Tilt the Tiles

This is a picture from the series of grids called “Tilt the Tiles”. Each grid depicts tiles and parts of ground and streets of Athens. The Concept: The city lifestyle of nowadays has strongly affected the way we perceive our surroundings. Stress, excessive work and lack of time have “deactivated” our ability to observe. Preoccupied as we are with thoughts and burdened with responsibilities we do not notice the surfaces we every day walk on. The ground under our feet which is the base where our whole city is built, usually stays unnoticed. However, isn`t it part of the cityscape too? The “Tilt the Tiles” project is a challenge towards the viewer to look…up.
