“MOURNING CIRCLE” is an essay on fragility, pain, suffering, beauty and death. An elegiac story of metamorphosis told in fragments of time and space. This is a story of a haunting, yet beautiful nymph, who is going through the circle of mourning to achieve a new form. The loss she is mourning is not the one of a lover or a living form but of her own self. In a desperate effort to transcend the moral world, one must die to achieve sovereignty and infinity. The filmmaker attempted to explore the death/mourning process, a natural process, which frees the participant upon its completion. Through death one gains new awareness and thus rebirth.
