Melancolia

The film interprets the engraving Melancholia (1514) by the German Renaissance master
Albrecht Durer. The emphasis is given on the symbolic Object – Dürer’s solid from the image that in the film stands for the student’s melancholy that haunts the woman/Angel hero. To depict the Durer’s solid the 3D technology was used according the Schrieber’s mathematical theory for constructing the Object. By applying HDR Image based lighting technology and 3D tracking the real footage is combined with the previously rendered 3D Object. The film is trying to tell the story of the image in partially narrative and partially abstract way.
