Encounters is the story of the Mapuche culture and their first contact with the Spanish conquistadors. The Mapuche indigenous people lived in peace with nature in a small part of South America until the arrival of Europeans in search of wealth and glory. The Mapuche lived in green valleys that were once full of nature and life. Through Encounters a stark contrasts emerges between the Mapuche traditions and the now devastated lands. Two cultures that had never met before become locked in a deadly fight. A Spanish conquistador who came to America looking for gold and glory; and an indigenous Mapuche man who has lost everything, struggles to survive and save his family.
