“Assays of the sixty parallel” are two forms of intervening the desolate nature. The man is not in his environment, Antartic does not need him. This red human tries to hold the wind, merge into the landscape. The weight of his existence is in his shoulders, in his steps, the same landscape and the ice prevent it.
