Topiary Samuael & Miller EE

Samuael Topiary is a NYC based video artist. Her work has been screened in many festivals including Lincoln Centre’s “NY Video Festival”, the Walker Art Centre in Minneapolis and the Chicago Int’l Film Festival where her video “REPERBAHN” won a silver plaque. Recent grants and residencies include a Media Arts Fellowship at Dance Theatre Workshop in New York, the Electronic Television Centre and the MacDowell Colony. She has directed and edited music videos for the band Le Tigre, and created video and visual designs for dance and theatre including the David Dorfman Dance Company and Miguel Gutierrez and the Powerful People. While in SF (92-99), she made the dance-film “ATALADA”, and toured the US with the all-girl spoken word troupe “Sister Spit”. She received an MFA in film/video from Bard College in 2002. She currently teaches at School of Visual Arts in NY and Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. EE Miller is an intentional conversationalist who records and edits sound, collaborates with filmmakers Aimee nee Worms, Bernadine Mellis and Samuael Topiary, and writes. She curated sound art Andrea Lawlor’s latest zine, “Orpheus”.
