Rui Silveira

Rui Silveira was born in Campo Maior in 1983 and presently lives in Lisbon. He graduated in Communication Design and has a master’s degree in Communication Design and New Media both at the Fine Arts Faculty of Lisbon. He attended the Independent Study Program at Maumaus School of Visual Arts and besides his activity as a movie director he is also a graphic designer. He focuses on urban living and the different ways that built space effects human behavior, as a starting point for his audiovisual creations. His work reveals a cinema of observation reflecting on the dialectics between local and global identity with sound playing an essential communication role.
