Patxi Araujo

Patxi Araujo (Spain, 1967). Is an artist and researcher. Professor at the Faculty of Arts at the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU. Experienced in the field of fine arts, he performs works as an exercise in aesthetic criticism and creation around the concept of the human through bodies, perceptions and metaphors from programming environments, robotics, artificial life and simulation. The works corresponding to this moment combine human narrative, nature and/or fiction with their digital peers, generating a scenario of a genuinely postdigital nature. Currently, it focuses on the investigation of algorithms of particle systems and interaction with software entities, where the image and generated sounds are products of that activity. His works are marked by the mutual contagion of generative algorithms and external non-digital inputs.
