Paiva Teresa

Born in 1976 in Portugal, Teresa Paiva is a multimedia artist currently based in London. Delving with video, sculpture, photography and installation, her works touch on the transitory, the dynamics between people and their surrounding environments and entail multiple reflections on social and environmental issues. Seeking elements from personal memory and quotidian experience as a departure point, Teresa then looks into how these elements transform, merge and readjust to shape culture, identity and memory. She graduated in Sculpture with Video specialization, from the Fine Arts University of Porto. Since moving to London in 2001, she has consolidated her art practice exploring and merging traditional and new media artistic mediums. Recent exhibitions include OPH, Amsterdam – Holland, APW Gallery- NY, London Canal Museum (video showcase), UK; Exhibit 1 Old Police Station, London, UK and Proud Gallery, Camden, London.
