Martinez Emily

Emily Martinez is an artist, originally based in Miami, Florida. She has practiced in a variety of media, including photography, sound, mixed media, installation, and most recently, electronic and digital media. Actively involved in Miami’s emerging art scene over the last ten years, her work has been exhibited as part of group and solo exhibitions, collaborations, and site-specific installations. She is currently enrolled in the Digital Arts and New Media MFA program at UCSC, where her practice and research interests investigate embodied cognition, perception, memory, and language. The corresponding works engage in overlapping themes that explore epistemological questions about the nature of consciousness, perceptual paradoxes brought forth by anomalous phenomena, as well as the idea and experience of the sacred.
