American artist Karen Niemczyk’s artwork consists mainly of interactive and installation pieces. With an initial education in biochemistry, Karen focused her artistic impulse on painting while working with web design and IT. Ultimately her interests merged and she adopted a hybrid form of art which intermingled scientific techniques with traditional art elements. With an MFA from the C:Art:Media program at Valand School of Fine Art in Gothenburg, Sweden her work has been shown in international venues spanning three continents. Recently, her work SELF won the Bellinger Memorial Award. She currently is an Adjunct Professor at University of North Carolina in Greensboro.
