Hautamaki Jukka

I am a media artist. I work with video, digital photography and experimental soundscapes. I record material from surroundings, process them with computer and often present them in multichannel installations. In my earlier works, I have used methods of visual expression for mythological narration. I have used for example Finnish national epic Kalevala, making comparison of modern days and western mythologies. Now my interests go deeper towards nature and for universal phenomena (death, love etc.). I try to search connections between painting, digital still images and video art. I am interested in the relationship between natural and artificial movement. Living objects together with abstract “chaos” are interesting for creating a poetic stream of visual storytelling. Art should avoid language barriers, whenever possible.
