Drivas Giorgos

George Drivas received an M.A. in Film and Media Studies at Freie Universitaet, Berlin, Germany and a B.A. in Political Science at the University of Athens, Greece. He is the recipient of numerous awards, namely, 2nd prize at the Zebra International Poetry Film Festival, Berlin, Germany (2002); Jury Award for Experimental Short Film at the New York Expo, NY, NY (2002); and Award for Best Greek Audiovisual Work Abroad by the Greek Ministry of Press and Media for Short Documentary (1999). Drivas’ work has been featured at Video and Digital Arts International Festival, Girona, Spain (2005); International Film Festival of Thessaloniki, Greece (2004); Poetry International Festival, Rotterdam, Netherlands (2003); Deaf Focus Film Festival, Edinburgh, Scotland (2003); Dactyl Foundation for the Arts and Humanities, NY, NY (2002); and One Minute World Festival, Sao Paolo, Brazil (2001). His work is also part of numerous international DVD collections such as, Euroscreen 21: 44 artists from 23 European countries, Germany/2005 and Microcinema International: Independent Exposure/Short Film compilation to name but a few. He is the co-founder of “Blonde” an independent audiovisual production company based in Athens. George Drivas lives between Athens and Berlin.
