Badeka Chrysanthi

Chrysanthi Badeka, scholar from State Scholarship Foundation of Greece and New York University, after graduating from Rallou Manou Professional Dance School (Athens), she continued her Master studies at the Tisch School of the Arts, NYU (New York), focusing in Choreography and Video. She has choreographed : Hark, Last, Status Entropus (GSO grant), I am a prisoner in my skull and Fin de partie #2, directed and edited the Videodances: s_p, BREATH/e, vortex, amen and “like a fish in a fishball”. She has collaborated as a dancer with Hellenic Choreodrama, Mesomorph, 58+3 Dance Company, Vis Motrix and Thessaloniki’s Opera (La Traviata), while in NY with Second Avenue Dance Company and Ch.B.Christiensen (NYU), A.Yavin (Whitney Museum), M.Zira & I.Poulos (The Kitchen), E.Poulinas (DNA), Johannes Wielend Dance Company (The Yard Festival/Residency) and Kleoni Manoussakis (Abc No Rio). Currently, she has moved in Athens, where she lives, works and attends the Master program “Digital Arts” in the Fine Arts School (ASFA). Her interest has shifted towards the creation of Dances for the Camera, video-installations and multimedia performances, in which the interaction between contemporary dance and audiovisual mediums constitutes the main field of experimentation.
